BERT’S ON THURSDAY: PARKER GISPERT

If you were lucky enough to be in attendance at Bert’s on Thursday on 2/24/22, you couldn’t help but get captivated by the many wide-ranging textures, moods  and imagery in the very original music created by one Parker Gisbert.

Being a total newcomer to Parker’s talents, which include a strong voice and interesting-sounding, hard-driving guitar playing (understand he gets around a piano pretty well also), I was pleasantly surprised when I kept getting Dylan and/or Neil Young-type flashes - you know how they just lay it out there on the line, using simple words that build scenarios which transport us listeners to “other places”.  When you possess that type of talent, you can write/sing “la-la-la” and it’s gonna make people feel good - and, when you’re a wordsmith AND a rocker like Parker Gisbert, you just might induce some of us head-bangers to think a little, too.  (Listen to Parker’s  “Goldilocks Zone” and ye shall be inspired)

Parker Gisbert is one of those folks - he's been right there, on the big international stages with The Whigs, playing with groups like Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, and Drive-By Truckers, he’s done the late-night circuit, done Vegas, and when Covid hit, he wound up holed up on a hemp farm in Smithville, TN, writing songs for his current album, Sunlight Twilight, and his about-to-be-released brand new album, Golden Years, releasing on New West Records on 9/2/22.

Bert Driver’s Burlap Room is very pleased and proud  to present deserving artists like Parker Gisbert to our discerning Burlapper audiences! Our next edition of Bert’s on Thursday is scheduled for March 10, 2022, featuring Griffin Winton, Songwriter of Rock/Blues/Country from McMinnville, TN
