JAZZY CHRISTMAS 2021

‘Tis the season, and Bert Driver’s Burlap Room ended their Bert’s on Thursday 2021 season with the jazz stylings of Ms. Shirley Tubbs, a stand-out Dekalb County Native who’s rhythm and blues roots were polished to elegant status in the big cities’  jazz scenes across America, and as headliner on cruise ship appearances, festivals and special events.

Indeed, Shirley brought it all home to the festive Burlappers on Thursday night, ranging from eclectic smooth Christmas songs, and then transitioning into jazz standards later in the evening, much to the delight of the toe-tapping capacity crowd in attendance.

Thanks to all of the Burlap Room entertainers who made Bert’s on Thursdays special during the entire year, and especially to the excellent staff who had the Burlap Room totally decked out in holiday fare for the closing performance of 2021–Tio’s Taco Truck was serving up their “better than anywhere” Mexican yummies as usual, the fire pits were blazing,  and everyone in attendance seemed plugged into the happy holiday vibe that permeated the entire evening.

So, from the staff and management of Bert Driver’s Burlap Room, Thanks for an amazing, record-setting 2021! We  look forward to seeing the same great bunch of folks (and new faces too!) in 2022!  In the interim, “May your days be merry and bright- and may all your Christmases be … Jazzy!”
